History

Oundle Gilbert and Sullivan Players was formed in 1958. Our first show was 'The Pirates of Penzance' performed in 1959 and we have been entertaining audiences every year since. For some entertaining videos and pictures from past shows, please visit our gallery below.

Performances

We produce two shows a year. Our Gilbert & Sullivan Production is at the end of February/beginning March when we perform one of the many famous comedy operettas

Our Summer concert in June when we perform a variety of songs loosely based around a theme (the 2016 theme was transport, the title Transports of Delight). The songs range from pop, jazz and humorous songs to songs from musicals, with no Gilbert & Sullivan songs at all.

Rehearsals

We rehearse once a week on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and provide a warm welcome to all. Rehearsals for the main show start in late August / early September. Rehearsals for the Summer concert start immediately after the Spring show, usually in March.

Joining the Players

New members are always welcome. We have 2 productions a year; the Gilbert and Sullivan production rehearsals start late August and the performance is a week in February the following year. The summer concert rehearsals start in March every year and the performances over a weekend are in the middle of June. You can join as a full member and take part in either or both productions.
